Hi, my name is Jeff and welcome to The Backyard Southern Gourmet.
I was raised on a farm in Kentucky and now live in Florida. As a result of all these years in the south, I am a bit partial to southern cooking and food.
I am certainly no stranger to picking blackberries, strawberries, green beans, corn....and you name it, so that my Grandma could can jellies and vegetables.
Over the years I've developed quite an interest in preparing southern-style meals that are simple, quick and yet delicious. I tend to use prepared condiments, spices and seasonings in my recipes to
save time.
Sometimes I have supper and sometimes I have dinner, but I still don't know, is it peCONN or PEEcan (pecan)?
