Today we are reviewing SliverLeaf International’s Ghost Pepper Salsa from Missouri City, TX.

From the label you can see a very interesting design with flames coming from the top of a skull along with SilverLeaf logo “leaves”. Each jar is 12 ounces and ingredients include tomatoes, onions, apple cider vinegar, garlic cloves, water, lemon juice, cilantro, Bhut Jolokia Peppers (Ghost Peppers), modified food starch, salt, sugar, spices, black pepper, chili powder and glucono delta lactone (a natural acidifier).
According to the label a serving size is 2 tablespoons. Each serving has 15 calories with 0g fat, 3g carbohydrates, 140mg sodium and 0g protein.
Immediately on opening the jar you will notice a salsa consistency that is chunky. You can see chunks of tomato, garlic and black pepper. The aroma definitely includes garlic (which makes sense as SilverLeaf offers many different types of marinated/pickled garlic).
